CoD4 Stealth Guide Section 1: Guns

Call of Duty 4 Stealth guide by Demon APX.

Guide Navigation: Section 1: Guns | Section 2: Perks | Section 3: Stealth Tactic

Introduction

Camo
So, first off, what is stealth? Stealth is sneakily taking out opponents so that others don't see you, it's the opposite of charging into a building guns blazing and firing all over the place without a silencer. The intent of this guide is to teach you how to be stealthy and do it well. One thing important to keep in mind is that Call of Duty 4 is a game of preference. While I say this many times in the guide, I want to make sure you remember. Just because I use MP5 silenced doesn't mean you should, for instance. You might like it, but if you simply love the P90 and can't stand the MP5, then smack a silencer on it and knock yourself out. So read on, I hope this guide helps you, but remember to keep in mind: suit yourself!

Section 1: Guns

Here are my stealth classes, one medium to long range and one short. I like the M4's iron sights and low recoil, give it stopping power and it's a beast. But more on perks later. I actually switch around between M4 with silencer and G36C with silencer, they're quite similar and both are very good with silencers.

MP5 also has great iron sights. Many like to use P90 more than MP5.
That's fine, whichever one, I prefer MP5 but of course that's just me.

mp5

If you like P90 better than MP5 then try it out with a silencer and see how you like it. Same goes for the M4. And of course you don't have to have two stealth classes, It's just that I do. Because I love both guns with silencer on, so even if I'm not going for stealth I use them because they're good and I like them.

So I would suggest M4 silenced, AK-47 silenced, G36C silenced, P90 silenced, Mini-Uzi silenced, Skorpion silenced, or MP5 silenced. Just remember this guide is just based on my personal preferences, so you're going to have to adjust to some things for yourself. It just truly requires a bit of testing out. Don't go with what the crowd wants. Call of Duty 4 is a game comprised of a ton of features, and why? It's so you can fit your own personal preferences.

Here are some my classes:

Primary Weapon: MP5 with silencer
Secondary Weapon: USP .45 silenced
Stun grenades
Perk1: Bandolier
Perk2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Steady aim

Primary Weapon: M4 with silencer
Secondary Weapon: USP .45 silenced
Stun grenades
Perk1: Bandolier
Perk2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Steady aim

(For 100% invisiblity, try this variation)

Primary Weapon: M4/MP5 with silencer
Secondary Weapon: USP .45 silenced
Stun grenades
Perk1: Bandolier
Perk2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Steady aim OR Dead Silence

So basically the only thing that's different is the main weapon, M4 is much longer range than the MP5 but MP5 is much more deadly for close combat. MP5 the M9 can also be used because the MP5 and M9 share ammo, thus giving you more MP5 ammo. But I like to have a solid pistol in case I have to switch. As for the three special grenades, you know I don't know a whole lot about them. I don't use them much.

Flashbangs

Flashbangs if you just want to blind somebody, but then they'll know you're there if it doesn't blind them enough. If you want to kill somebody without them having the ability to move around and shoot you, use stuns. Plus stuns do a bit of damage which is always nice for fast take-downs. I would suggest not using smoke grenades. The smoke flies up in the air and while you can cross wherever you smoked undetected, someone knows that there is a person in that general area. While smoke is great some classes, it's not recommended for stealth.

Smoke

But if you want to use smoke grenades, then be my guest. I don't use special grenades that much, and that's all I have to say. Many want to snipe silenced. It's not an easy feat, but if you can master what's described in this paragraph then consider yourself a silenced sniper. Some like to use the M16 as sort of a sniper rifle, but it's a three shot burst, so if you are one of those people slap a silencer on it and hold back. Sniper rifles can't be silenced. So you'll have to deal with single shot assault rifles, and there are two. The G3 or M14 are single shot assault rifles and can have silencers attached, but killing can be difficult because of the crappy iron sights. But if you get used to them then gratz, you got yourself a silenced sniper.
