CoD4 Weapons: G3 Guide

Guide by Crunchie - You can make an argument that the G36c is the best assault rifle in the game. Although it is seen as inferior to the M4 Carbine or the AK-47 by many, with a simple breakdown of the weapon, you can clearly see that it is actually superior.
1. The G36c Vs. The AK-47.
First off, the '36 is superior in accuracy. That, along with it's lower recoil, makes it better at long range than the AK-47. However, the AK-47 has a higher damage rating than the '36, but it also has a lower rate of fire. At first glance, you may think that that makes the guns balance out, but in reality, the higher ROF along with the 36's still respectable damage rate is better because on the AK-47, because of the low ROF, each shot counts that much more, but with the 36, because of the higher ROF your shots count less and because of since the G36c has good damage, it takes your opponents down just as quickly as the AK.
If you didn't get that, read this: The AK-47's very high damage but low ROF, and the G36's good damage and good ROF lead to either gun performing equally quick takedowns. However, because of the 36's high ROF, each shot you take counts that much less as opposed to the AK. Subsequently, this leads to the G36c having a better 'feel' to it and also makes it easier to use.
Also, the G36c 's recoil is more controllable.

G36c Vs. M4 Carbine
The G36c 's good damage and good ROF and the M4's very good ROF but mediocre damage also lead to equally quick takedowns. However the M4's high sway along with it's high ROF, make this gun a bi too spray friendly. This leads to the waste of a lot of bullets.
While the M4 does have no recoil, it's sway more than makes up for that. Also when you aim down your sight, the M4's sway moves more than the '36 's sight would move do to recoil.
In summary, the G36 is more bullet-efficient than the M4 carbine.

G36c Vs M16
There is not much to be said here. The correct way of using the 36 and the correct way of using the M16 are two completely different things. Comparing the two is like comparing the Barrett and the Uzi.

G36c Vs M14 & G3
Same as above. It's a completely different strategy.

G36c Vs. MP44
See AK-47. The MP44 is an AK with an even worse rate of fire and no attachments.

G36c: Attachments.
No attachments: Not recommended. The 36 has poor iron sights and the smoke that comes out of the barrel makes them worse.
Grenade Launcher (happy Vasq?): Don't use it. Has all the cons of no attachments, along with no perk 1, terrible iron sights, and ridicule, it's just not fun/ good to use.
RDS: Highly recommended. Solves the iron sight problem, and of course this attachment is good for any gun.
Silencer: I take this attachment with my Red Tiger '36. If you get used to the sights, the silencer is deadly because of the 36 's ease of use. Also, since the silencer reduces smoke coming out of the barrel, it makes the iron sights somewhat decent.
ACOG: The G36 is a good ACOG AR. With it's very manageable (SP?) recoil and low idle sway, the G36 makes a good ACOG AR especially on maps where you have many long range encounters. (Strike, Overgrown, Etc.)

Perks:
Bandolier: The Jack of all Trades. Good for obvious reasons.
Frag x 3: Good for run n' gun. Compliments RDS.
Other: A lot of you like C4, RPG, Special Nades, Etc. This gun can go well with any perk 1 really.
Stopping Power: I recommend this perk. Makes for extremely quick kills.
Overkill: The G36c overkills well with an ACOG G3. Also you can take a 36 ACOG with a close quarters weapon such as a P90 or Skorpion.
UAV Jammer: Use with silencer only. I take my silenced '36 with Stopping Power, but if you want to be a complete ghost, knock yourself out.
Steady Aim: The G36 with steady aim is so accurate from the hip. (Right Pro?) Helps a ton in close quarters.
Deep Impact: Personally, I think that you are going to kill people from the hip then through a wall. But if you have a... er, habit of... er... shooting people through the wall then this is the perk for you.
Martyrdom: Don't use it. You will definetly rack up kills, but how many times has martyrdom user either:
A) Killed you with his nade
B) Forced you to come out from behind cover and get killed that way
Don't use it unless you are desperate.
Extreme Conditioning: Use it if you like to run a lot.

Final Note and Dedication:
Final Note: I mad this guide to spread the word about the G36 's awesomeness.
Dedication: I dedicate this guide to Briddler, Smokey, Midnight 925, Demon because they no only contribute a lot to the forums, but I had an interesting convo last night with them in the lounge. (And because I have no one else to dedicate it to )
