Guide by DemonAPX - Hey guys, and welcome to my guide on the MP44.

About the MP44:

Ahh, the MP44. So underrated, yet, overrated at the same time. I cannot recall how many times I have heard, 'OMG that gun is so horrible it's a WWII gun and it doesn't even have any attachments I mean OMGWTFBBQZOR?' On the other hand, I have also heard this countless times: 'OMG I can't wait until I unlock the MP44, have you looked at its stats?? It's the last gun you unlock so it HAS to be really good!' Please. Get real. The bars are not accurate at all, they are very misleading. But that's off topic. The thing I probably hear most often is, ;God, I hate this gun so much. How in the hell am I supposed to get a Golden AK-47 if I can't get a single headshot with this stupid gun?' In this guide, I hope to be able to cover all three of these aspects with you. This gun does not have any attachments, so this is mainly a strategy guide.

MP44 General tips:
For those of you who hate it, give it more of a chance. For those of you who just think its going to be the most godly gun you've ever set your hands on...well, give it a shot for yourself. Its major downside is that it doesn't have any attachments. The iron sights are mediocre, but not great. However, that does not make this gun horrible. Kind of 'ugh...' recoil, fair accuracy, down on the fire rate, but 'Holy Crap!' damage. Once you get used to it, you may find you like it more than you thought you did before.

MP44 Headshot tips:
Well here it is. For those who still don't like the MP44, and just want me to shut up about how to use it so they can get headshots, this is for you. Here are several ways to get headshots for this  gun without cheating. First off, bare with me now, cage match. Now this doesn't mean in the lobby saying 'Hey dude, want to do headshots?' I mean actually playing out the game. Put on Dead Silence and just creep around with this gun, many times in cage match people just camp so you can line up for an easy headshot. Here is another idea: Overkill. Whenever you come across an easy headshot, let's say it's an unsuspecting sniper we're dealing with here, just come up behind them, or for the head on approach, go prone, creep around the corner, pull out that overkilled MP44, and line up (use stopping power and short bursts for best results! Though you cannot use stopping power with overkill, this applies to all classes) Not much else you can say. Check out the headshot tips guide for more details. With this gun's recoil, aiming for the head might not always work for those longer ranges. Instead, the recoil will carry the bullets everywhere. You might want to aim for the neck or bottom of the head instead of the brain for those shots. For other ranges though, aim at the nose. You don't need to hit the brain in this game. I like to call this the 'toothless mouth' approach. This way, bullet spread will usually still hit the head, and recoil will be ok too because the bullets will still hit the top of the head.

MP44 Perks:

Bandolier: Never found ammo much of a problem, but if you do, hey, what can go wrong with this perk?

Frag x3: You could always use more frags, especially to access longer ranges, since recoil might make you regret trying to take out that sniper.

C4 x2: This isn't really a camping gun, so C4, along with Claymores, isn't really recommended for assaulting.

RPG-7 x2: 'Hey, you see that chopper? Yeah, the one with the fire coming out of it.' You ALWAYS want to be the one saying that. A very safe perk, no doubt. Of course, try not to go too long range with these though, as they curve up after short distances and spin around and do all sorts of flips and act like a seal at an acrobatics show.

Double Tap: Of course, this gun has an embarrassingly low fire rate. The MP44 is like the guy sitting by the punch bowl at the annual Fire Rate dance, and the popular M4 is just sitting in the corner with all of his friends laughing at it. This perk fixes that up right nicely, makes recoil a bit worse but if that fire rate is getting on your nerves, then this is a good perk.

Stopping Power:  A great perk with this gun, with only mediocre accuracy and frustrating recoil, you want them to go down fast. I guess you could consider this a continuation of above, at the annual Damage dance the MP44 walks in and kills everyone in front of the M4, then violently saws the M4's head off with a toothbrush. Hey, it's Sweeney Todd all over again, except with a toothbrush this time! Maybe we could make a remake and call it Sweeney Tooth! Sorry, off-topic. Good perk for this gun.

Steady Aim:  You can't go wrong with close quarters hip fire, accuracy is something this gun could use especially with its recoil. All the ownage of the MP44 in combination with the mobility of free movement. For most accurate affects, stand still to shoot.

Deep Impact: Many also prefer this. A very good perk no doubt, you can't go wrong with making that concrete look like Styrofoam. And then you get to laugh when the builders get sued.

Generally anything that is close to medium range. The recoil and sights just make long range a no-no for this weapon. Some examples:
