Might be old or new to you guys but just for the ill-informed.Just some stuff i thought id post, straight from the Mag.

Darkest DaysSet durning the closing days of WWII, World at war shows a vision of hell on earth. It trades in the antiseptic gray hues and sanitized violence of traditional World war II games for something more hellishly lurid, a Technicolor assualt on the senses(wtf?).
Its generally faithful to the look and feel of CoD4:MW, but is in many ways darker and nastier. This is WWII like youve never seen it, rendered in ghoulish, almost surreal detail. Explosions pluck away arms and legs, Molotov cocktails turn soldiers into screaming bonfires, and buzzards settle to pick at the charred remains. Its grim and unrelenting and very, very intense.
Fundamentaly a sequel to the immensly successful CoD4, WaW early on earned the unoffical industry monkier of "Call of Duty 5." True, it borrows many of the distict hallmarks of CoD4, from the graphical technology to the precise weapon handling to the RPG-like multiplayer. But while it keeps everything that worked in CoD4, it goes the extra mile with a host of WWII-specific details, Online co-op, and tank combat. These enchancements will make for a deeper, multifaceted game that will steal away Gaylo(opps I meant Halo) and CoD4 veterans.
(Caption at the bottom of the first page: Drivable tanks makes a series debut in CoD:WaW. A host of vehicle-centric Perks can boost your drivving Speed, firing rate, and more. Note the gunner seat-a buddy can hop in and cover you with machince gun fire, though hes left vulernable and exposed.)

Captions cut-off (from top, to the left one): 1) Call of Dutys new War mode ,shown here, introduces drivable tanks for the first time. Customers who pre-order CoD:WaW will be granted exclusive acess to a special online multiplayer demo this fall. 2) WaWs mutliplayer keeps the speedy, addictive pace of CoD4. Two new modes, Capture the flageand war, extend the multiplayer options.

Killing Spree!(for those who find it difficult to read small print)
Like Call of Duty4, WaWs multiplayer mode rewards players for killing enemies without dying. Heres what youll earn for your kill streaks.
1. Recon Plane: Kill three enemies without dying and you can deplot the recon plane. It temp. highlights all nearby enemies on your radar
2.Artillery Strike: Kill five enmies and youll be prompted to select a strike zone. Seconds later, artillery shells will shriek in to obliterate the area.
3.Attack dogs: Kill seven enemies and youll release several attack dogs that will chase down and kill enemy team members. Dogs will seek out hiding enemies, so you can suprise your enemies.
(end of pg 3)
Misery Loves CompanyDuring the single player game, youll folow the story of a US soldier in the Pacific theater and a Russian soldier in Western Europe, jumping back and forth from the tropical beaches of Mankin Island to the bombed out buildings of Stalingrad and Berlin.
The visual variety os striking, sometimes youll be creeping through shadowy jungles, and other times youll sprint through flaming buildings and raging battlefields. The pacific stages are a totally different experience given the guerilla warfare tactics of the imperial japanese troops. The japanese will suprise you by springing out of tall grass, playing dead, and perching on trees. These tactics are historically accurate and bring an almost horrific quality to the Imperial Japanese troops.
World at War also introduces co-op play for the first time. The entire single player campaign can support up to 4 players or two players in split screen. In a competitive version of co-op 4 players can compete to score the most head shots and rack the most kill streaks.Perform well and you get exp. points which unlock better weapons and more advanced abilities.
The Online FrontWaW shows promising sign of continuing the momentuem of CoD4 wiht a large, well designed multiplayer mode. There are plenty of new modes in WaW including Capture the flag mode and better party management. The most striking multiplayer highlight is the new War gametype, which includes driveable tanks and focused battles that rage around scattered landmarks.
Other enhancements are a series of new perks, RPG-like special abilities and items, which provide countermeasure to popular tactics. The "Flak Jacket" perk will protect against gernade spammers, and the new bayonet that gives you an edge on knife fighters.
Overall, the play style of WaW multiplayer feels like CoD4 with more exotic weapons and deeper gamestyle. The look is right and the feel is pure Call of duty. In other words, CoD4 Vets wont be dissapointed.
Mod Squad (Attacthments)
1.Sawed-off Barrel And Stock: A mod for WaWs new double barreled shot gun. Sawing off the barrel will make this gun a short-ranged room clearer, with enormous damage and spread but little range.
2.Sights and Scopes: Youll outfit your rifles and SMGs with aperture sights, telescopic sights, and sniper scopes to help get you clearer shots. (I guess this means youll be able to add on better ironsights, or scopes to your guns like the Tommy, MP44 or whatever machine gun.)
3.Bipod: While you lie down, this portable device greatly reduces weapon recoil. A great tool for snipers and heavy gunners.
4.Bayonet (longer knife): The Bayonet had a much longer reach that the standard combat knife and can be used to gain an edge over knife-abusing players. Although it takes over a perk slot.
5.Magazine Upgrades: Adding a dual magazine or drum magazine to your weapon allows you far more shots before reloading.

Parade of PerksM2 Flamethrower: This puppy is a high-level unlock, but its worth the wait. This is hands-down the best flamethrower weve ever used, projecting a far-reach stream that torches enemies and vegetaion.
Pyromaniac: Like sonic boom, this perk boosts your damage across an entire class of attacks. In this case, fire from Molotov cocktails and the Flamethrower.
Satchel Charge: Much like the C4 in CoD:4, satchel charges can be placed near important objectives to discourage enemy infantry. Theyle aksi inflict big damage on tanks, provided you can place them underneath.
Bouncing betty: WaWs version of the claymore mine. When triggered bouncing betties live up to their name by springing up into the air and shredding all nereby enemies with sharpnel.

Flak Jacket: Grenade spam becomes a thing of the past with this welcome enhancement, which will enable you to survive a close-range blast from Martydom users.

Gas Mask: Equipping this mask protects you from the disorienting effects of Tabunn nerve gas, a new gernade type in WaW.
Second Chance: The new and improved version of last stand. When your killed youll drop to ground armed with a pistol in hand. The catch: if a teammate is also packing second chance, he/she can revive you.
Fireproof: This perk provides protection from flamethrowers and Molotov cocktails, handy if your oppnents overuse them..
Dexterity: Improved version of slieght of hand, grants you faster reloading, faster cocktail preperation as well as bouncing betties.

Judgement: Call of Duty: World at War will be much more balanced than CoD:4 and provide a unique and fresh experience from the tired yet true Call of Duty: 4.
