Ok, first off, the m16 is not, and never was a nooby gun, it only is if you have a grenade launcher.

The M16 is a 3 bullet burst firing gun, the delay between each burst you fire is about half a second, it can mean life or death in some cases. It's a great gun for sniping medium-long range because it has practicly no recoil if you delay pulling the trigger around 1 sec, but even if you try to fire full auto, the small delay it has demolishes the real recoil for pinpoint accuracy that Steady Aim cannot provide.

Now, NEVER use it for CQC! You will die most of the time if you're using it for stealth, that means silencer, uav jammer, and dead silence. The reason why is the small delay will make the damage stink when using for CQC, but if the enemy does not notice, and his guard is down, just shoot his head, you'll have red tiger in no time that way.

Attachments: RDS, and ACOG Scope is about all the practical ones for it.

Perks: Perk1- Bandolier if you know how to survive because this gun doesn't use much ammo if you use it correctly, so you'll need it in some cases. Claymore X2 if you're going to snipe with it.
Perk 2-  Stopping power (Obviously). UAV Jammer, for those who use it for stealth, and who developed good tactics with it.
Perk 3- Steady aim- no explanation needed. Deep impact for those who do that kinda stuff with the walls, and Extreme conditioning if you're running away or rushing.

Thats about all to the guide, have a good time your M16A4!

First of all you dont need dead silence for your stealth class, dead silence is compleate meaning of USELESS. Well I never have caught someone by his footstep noise or somethin like that.

And its kinda short isnt it?

theres already like 50 m16 guides and uav jammer on m16 is a waste because you use silencer bad iron sights, lower range, m16 will lose to smgs and autos fast without stopping power and dead silence= crouch walk

I catch guys by the sound of their movements quite often. I have a really good surround sound system and unless they're using Dead Silence, I can usually detect someone close to me and approximately where they're located. This does present a problem on the Broadcast map because I can hear people moving above me, but it usually sounds like they're moving on the same floor I'm on which can cause some confusion as to where they actually are.

Destro - I was with you up to the part where you never caught anyone by their footsteps.  Use headphones (I do) and you WILL catch people by their footsteps.  I do it all the time.
I happen to agree that unless you run a lot, dead silence is a wasted perk because as Bloody Azzazin pointed out you only need to crouch walk to be silent, and since the M16 is primarily a medium range weapon you shouldn't find yourself in too many situations where you need to run silently.  I also agree that the iron sights suck. I use ACOG or RDS on M16.

And yeah - it's too short for a weapon guide.
