The MP44 Guide

Background Information:
The MP44 (Machinenpistole 44), also known as the StG44 (Sturmgewehr 44), is considered the first true assault rifle. In fact, the term assault rifle was taken from Sturmgewehr which can be translated as assault rifle. By all accounts, the StG44 fulfilled its role admirably, particularly on the Eastern Front, offering a greatly increased volume of fire compared to standard infantry rifles. In the end, it came too late to have a significant effect on the tide of the war. The AK-47 is a famous example of a gun that was influenced by the MP44.

General Strategy:
Before using this gun, I would recommend getting comfortable with the AK-47, as the two guns are quite similar. Practice using it up close and at long distances. This means that you need to practice burst fire in long range skirmishes, because the MP44 has some serious recoil. Even so, it can be controlled (using burst fire) to make it into an almost unstoppable killing machine.  Even so, the iron sights might be a problem. For me it isn't. It's basically the same as the M16 iron sights. If you find yourself in a situation where you aren't yet comfortable with them, then I would recommend going for close quarters combat. This gun has great power, so it is possible to beat any gun at close range. Also the fire rate isn't to great. This is easily fixed however, just use Double Tap.

I disagree. The MP44, when firing in one shot bursts, is quite amazing, this thing is a hardcore sniper. Two bullets to kill, fair iron sights not great but fair, it really is quite a good gun. The AK-47's attachments are superior I guess, but not by a lot. The muzzle flash on the AK screws me over I feel like I'm blindfiring which forces me to use a silencer on it, but with this gun muzzle flash never bothers me.

Yes, Demon would know just how dangerous this gun is in the hands of a competent user (as I was playing Sabatoge with him on Countdown and finished 11-4 and I planted the bomb that won it. Really, this is a great gun and is very misunderestimated.

Very good guide. I still hate that gun though  . It's just so... Old lol. Maybe I will use it in CoD5

mp44 is simply the best weapon... because you unlock it last lol... nah but with stopping power i can long range a sniper with 3 shots with it and and up close it takes only 2. plus cool looking fire comes from the tip of it and it sounds awsome.

nontheless its the best gun ever lol
