Devil's Advocate - Non Prestige Folks

It took me awhile to take the plunge and go Prestige and now that I've done it I have something more to look forward to in the game. Kudos to IW for adding that.

OK, here I go playing Devil's Advocate.

I can see all the pros of staying level 1 like trying to get gold weapons and finishing challenges but what else could there be?

If you haven 't gone Prestige, explain why.  This isn't a bash piece on anyone because if that's your thing........

Ya there is no reason for going prestige, like you said in a different post Cnning Runt "a monkey" could get to lvl 10 prestige and it doesnt take skill at all, my first CoD4 account i got to lvl 6 pretige and got tired of it so made a new one and didnt prestige cause killing someone with a badass golden weapon that i got alot faster is way more prestigious than doing it with a golden cross that no one even looks at whil your actually in the game, unlike the golden AK-47 that just took their head off

I have never gone prestige. All you do is trade in your guns, camos, attachments, challenges, etc., for a lousy logo! No point. I would rather have my golden guns thank you very much.

My Non-Prestige goals:

1) Better k/d
2) More kills and score
3) Golden guns and red tigers
4) Having fun, just playing the game
5) Perfecting a class

never leave a room cos its full of gold crosses lol so them who boss and kick ass!!
i got 2 PSN my first one i stopped at rank 3 lvl 55 and started my new PSN so if am having a bad day ie , got no good guns or oerks then i just go on to my 55 and have a better day lol that way i have best of both worlds, can level up to the 8th where i will stay but while am doing that i still have every gun and perk with my other psn.

I cant see the point just for a new icon besides PC players i believe dont have prestige?

Many people like to set themselves targets like gold weapons and challenges, but they may not have the time or the patience to wade through any number of prestige levels before they can even begin their actual quest. Not everyone can spend 6 hours a day on a game.

That's how I look at it. While I do play an hour or so a day, I don't really play long enough to go after the prestige levels. Instead I just try to accomplish the gold weapons and finishing off all the challenges for satisfaction. I do commend those who go after the prestige levels however, as it is very consuming, its just not my cup of tea so to speak.

I agree with all this, I just did it at tenth prestige.

Personally I see prestige as "clocking" a game
You get to the end and like MGS can go through again with something like a bandana or something
In COD4's case it would be a new icon

But I do like going through the prestiges just cos
1. I think GOLD guns look like crap
2. I would get bored staying at the one level and having no real challenge in the game

Usually when I hit 55 I try and kill a whole team by knifing or pistol whipping them in TDM that way I can do a quick TBAG for the kill cam

I didn't prestige for the reason you said. Gold guns. I value the camos more than a silly symbol that doesn't really reflect skill but just has a tiny bit of intimidation. Anyone can get 10th prestige by playing a lot. Not everyone can get red tiger or gold guns without cage match.
