If you check in the "Guides" Section, I have a guide I wrote that should help you out with the basics of being a good sniper. I would repost the tips in here, but its kinda long. Theres actually quite a few guides in there about being a sniper that would really help out anyone wanting to become a Sniper.

if u know where u want to go run there. if u start crawling on the floor u are easy to shoot. most ppl wont bother shooting u if u run. wen u get to ur position lie down incase any1 saw u. wen your snipering on a level such as crossfire(i got 28 kill streak usin R700 no deaths) shoot the other snipers. if u miss some1 twice lie down.  alot of the time u think tht someone is gonna come behind u they probably are so take a look once in a while. get use to knowing wen ur claymore has blown ur so u know wen some1 is behind. if u run out of breath dont bother trying to shoot ppl while its moving around just lie down n wait for it to settle. hope this helped

m40 is the best sniper, but sniping just takes practice (esp with acog)

i agree with ghost  on the clamores... great sniper is the R700. 1 shot kills with stopping power and mabey without it if you hit um in the head or torso. If ur gonna be a stationed sniper, stay in the same building and watch where other snipers can get you. Consider it a bonus if someone runs by you. The most important thing is to not die and get kills while doing it. DONT USE ACOG!  If you do i honestly think ur retarded. Acog is for assault snipers and if ur gonna do that use something like bandolier or fragx3 not clymores. Yeah so just watch where other snipers can gwt you. Thats most important and watch ur back. .... Also get good with a pistol. They really are beastly in the right hands.

Read these guides.  I have not personally read any of them except for Feonian's, so I cannot vouch for the quality of any of the others, though.  Feonian's are very good.  I did the legwork, so you don't have to find the guides.  I automatically skipped all of the guides that I thought were too short for the topic.

claymores arent hard to learn.
sniping...and i mean good sniping.
takes brains.
Sniping= 85% brain, 10% reaction, 3%eyes, 1% firing, 1% claymores.
you dont need claymores if you kill everyone

Hey. I'm an experienced sniper so
These tips might come in handy...

1. Determine if you're going to be an attacking or camping sniper.
If you camp, use claymores and a barrett/M40A3 NOT R700!!! I have a lot of experience in sniping! IT SUX!
if you attk, go for barrett/dragunov NOT M21 IT IS TOO WEAK TO BE USED PROPERLY.

2. Become proficient with a SILENCED pistol... forget that Deagle.. If you can't, use overkill with a MP5SD.

3. Use stopping power for camping, UAV for attack, UAV on all SAS/Spetznaz maps.

4. CLAYMORES WILL SAVE YOU COUNTLESS TIMES don'tgo anywhere without them. also use SMOKES. Chuck tem and run in the opposite direction.

5. If you have a ghillie suit, USE IT. prone in grass for attacking and DONT STAND AGAINST A CONCRETE WALL YOU LOOK LIKE A FURRY HAMSTER and will attract countless LMGs/deaths.

6. Be observant. God gave you eyes for a reason.

7. If you hear your last claymore go off, EXFIL. FAST! throw a smoke and get the **** outta there. Your pistol is no match for that guy with an SMG. This is an exception, of course if you have overkill.

8. once you have shot someone, stay scoped in for 5 secs. THIS IS A MUST!!! It'll make the guy's life hard to find you via killcam.

9. Once you kill the guy who destroyed your last claymore, MOVE!! He'll get ya if you don't. (you can wait for him again, but this is boring.)

10. IF you see a group of enemies, say 2SMGers an LMGer, Assault guy and sniper, take them out in this order. Sniper FIRST. YOULL DIE IF U DONT!!! LMG second. Assault third, SMG 4th.

11.Watch for countersnipers. They are your WORST enemy, soon followed by SMGers that want to kill you up close.

12. If you do get sprung by a shotty guy,KEEP YOUR DISTANCE. You should be able toget rid of him with your pistol before he gets in - range.

13. LEARN TO NO - SCOPE!

14. You'll die a few times trying to get to your camping spot... remember, you aren't rambo like you are with an SMG, you are a weak feeble guy in a hamster suit with a pistol. DONT charge a building (bloc etc) expecting to live. That guy with the SMG WILL get you first.

15. IF you do get to a camping location, check the corners... there could be a guy already there waiting for you.

16. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have trouble aiming, use the M40 Sniper Rifle and hold your breath when you shoot. Also, you can shoot through walls with the deep impact perk. If an enemy is behind a wall, no problems. Just fire a round or two and problem solved.

the berrett will rip though the wall kill the person that is there in one shot then continue and kill the next person through the building. plz note that.

As an add on i'd recommend the BArrett if you're sniping.

REMEMBER: accuracy is the time it takes to steady your gun, not how oftenit hits. It'll hit 98/100 times, if you aim it.

i love acog m40 with bando SP and SA. i just run around like i have an assault rifle. i had a 25-2 game in district lol
