Sniping on HQ?
I recently saw a video of people sniping at headquarters. They will set up in  a area with a good view of the headquarters and pick of the people. Some have acogs some dont.
I tried it today and i owned. i was wondering if anyone else does this and they have any tips?

I tend to avoid playing HQ but I have sniped during it before. It is great when you can get that golden spot where you can see the whole HQ, but you can't be seen easily.

Though normally you just get mowed down by LMG's and 'Nades.  Undecided

I wouldn't know, I am not really good at sniping. Don't have the patience, nor the aim. Although, with HQ it might be fun, since you know everyone is going there Smiley. So only my aim left to improve.

I think sniping on hq is selfish because you just sit picking people off instead of working to win the game.

x2

I've seen sniping work on some maps, but that's usually by guys with overkill, who work to capture then camp up somewhere.

I was on countdown today, and three of our team were immobile snipers. We got raped because there wasn't enough manpower to keep any pressure on the other team. I'm sure they had a good k/d, but they let us down.

FFA is for people who want to work on their own.

ya i hate when people dont try to capture the hq. its one of my biggest pet peaves...though we had a really good sniper on bog and they helped us alot. so maybe in those cases. but id ssay unless your really good dont do it. I did get alot of kills so maybe i was helping. i like Headquarters and domination because it brings the enemy to you vise versa. either way your in a better postition to get more kills.

i like to snipe during HQ but i usually try to capture first. Then sit back and pick the off. Backlot is a good HQ sniping map.

I think sniping on hq is selfish because you just sit picking people off instead of working to win the game.

That could be argued for games such as Domination or Sabotage as well but not only with sniper, just people that go for kills only.

Since I'm 55 I don't care for the XP too much so I honestly go for kills more often that not, but I try to help out as much as possible in these games when I can. I make the exception to Shipment rounds. Anyone that goes for flags or the headquarters there, doesn't know how to play Shipment.

In a serious clan match I definatly see why winning the game is more important, especially when a win streak is the goal such as with your clan. If I was in a clan I'd work much harder to win games.

hmmm I guess one sniper in HQ is quite acceptable. I mean I saw on youtube a guy sniping in HQ, and he surely made the job easier for his teamate by killing them from long range

but then again, they were stupid enough not go take out that sniper hahaha oh well

What nonsense.

I was playing HQ on Shipment at the weekend. My team won something ridiculous like 220-20, which is a whole bunch of extra XP (and double XP too) and the match bonus was huge. I went something like 105-30 kd too.

Sure, if you're not ranking up, it's a great spamathon, but it's still just as cool to actually try and win as any other map.

I don't think it's selfish to snipe on HQ if done well.

Sniping can kill guys across the map making it easier for your guys that are breaching.  One less man inside is one less man to shoot at them.  On bog one good sniper can hold back the entire enemy team by himself if they're so-so.

When you piss them off generally one or more of their players will ignore the HQ and come for you instead. Meaning now there is one less enemy that is a direct threat to the rest of the team, and even if he does get you it still took him out of the game to do it.  You were still getting kills the whole time he was flanking around the map.

Too many snipers is a problem yeah; I usually switch in that case.  Otherwise, I'd like to believe I help the team a lot, get the best k/d ratio, and seriously piss off the other team while doing so.
