Is any one else excited for far cry 2?

It's awesome it's a sandbox shooter. That means that, unlike games like CoD, you can go any where in the entire game world (as long as you have the will to travel their) at any time! It also means that you can approach any objective in any way you'd like. If you want to hang back and snipe, do it. I you want to sneak in with your dagger, go ahead. If you feel like going Rambo style, knock yourself out.

Plus the game has several cool features including dynamic weather, which means that if you are playing a level and it starts to rain, it's not because the level designer decided that he wanted rain. It's because the ingame weather conditions allowed it to rain. Also every thing is effected by the environment. For example, if you fire a flamethrower directly into the wind, it'll come back and light you up. Also if you shoot a tree down(which you can do in this game), it doesn't magically reappear 5 minutes later. Instead a tree grows back gradually, just like in real life. Finally, the game is the size of the real life equivalent of 50x50 kilometers.

I'm totally on board with this game. It's my hope that this is the direction first person shooters will be going in the future. Instead of maps, large dynamic battlefield like WWII Online and Armed Assault but with the quality of graphics seen in CoD4 and better.

Yup yup! The only thing that I can say about this type of game is that it's a bit to slow paced for me sometimes. Otherwise tho, it's really cool! Have you ever played Crysis?

Yep i'm excited about this. I watched a trailer on gamespot when they were playing it and it was great it tells you loads about it.

well Il buy and play the game but I still would prefer the jungle theme Roll Eyes

I'm pretty sure there are jungle sections, just not all of it is jungle, which think is better for variation and interest in the game. I can only hope it is better than Instincts and Evolution though. Those games left much to be desired in my opinion.
