Killzone 2

guys do you thing this game will ever be released?
how long did it past, my friend got the first game, we fought by split screen alot
*that was the reason that I hate fps on consoles, killzone was the only game and aiming with sticks sux for me )

and the e3 trailer of this game was somewhat 2 minute BUT the trailer was actually 30second, the other 1:30 was passed by "KILLZONE 2"s falling out of the sky and dropping on ground, then a few bullet penatrate it

I just got mad at the game

The Killzone series is awesome. I absolutely loved the first, it's in my top 3 PS2 games ever. Sure it had it's bugs, but so does every first major game from a fledgling development studio. It was for the hardcore FPS player and wasn't some kiddy shooter as was prominent then. It was ahead of it's time, thus wasn't appreciated for what it was by critics and gamers alike. But it pioneered some great features that are mainstream now.

The PSP Liberation game was also very good, as good a TPS as I've played on a hand-held.

Killzone 2 will be epic, mark my words.

It's releasing in February '09. It is practically almost ready but Sony don't want to release it in the same quarter as Resistance 2 so opted to spend a few more months polishing up KZ2. Fine by be.

i'd always thought about buying the first one on my PS2 before it mucked up and then I got my PS3...

but really what kind of a trailer was it 1:30 sony and KILLZONE word dropping from sky nd getting penatrated by bullets
30 seconds of gameplay footage that 1 grenade is tossed and a person is killed

I JUST would want to have more

Damn, I've been waiting for this for a longggg time. I remember when i first saw the trailer, it was at school and one of the IT Technicians was showing me and a few friends the trailer on his laptop, i mean this was before the PS3 was even announced!

The Killzone series is awesome. I absolutely loved the first, it's in my top 3 PS2 games ever. Sure it had it's bugs, but so does every first major game from a fledgling development studio.

Finally someone said it.  I love the game, just played it a few days ago.  Yes it did have its faults but all games do.  The biggest problem with the game for me was just the characters....... some of them.

What really pisses me off though is when I hear someone say that the second game will suck because they think the first one sucked.  If you like cod4 then killzone 2 looks like it will kick ass.  One thing I don't like about the game though is that it doesn't look like you have to use your sights to shoot accurately, which is something I think any realistic fps game should have nowadays.  Another thing that I don't like from what I see in the videos is that some of the weapons look like they went back in technological level.  The weapons in that game were half the reason to play the game.  Not that the weapons will behave worse but the design of the weapons was perfect in the first game and the new ones look like a lack of imagination.

Guys actually -not saying I wont like killzone I will but=>- killzone 2 is just going to be a "Great Graphics!!!" game
Nothing is going to make a mileston on console or fps gaming (except graphics ofc)

Saying the shortway:
"Killzone 2 is Doom 3"
I mean when doom3 was out everyone played it, this great graphics were never created before but after all many people finished half-life 2 over and over and over while doom3 was "play once or twice"  game


EXACT things are going to happen to killzone 2 in my opinion [except that killzone will have nice multiplayer -hopefully- and it will live longer because of multiplayer BUT also if no other great fps come out on ps3(as on pc every year at least 2 great fps come out, that made dooms end get faster too :/) killzone will live further]

BUT I just hope that they make the graphics really awesome gameplay swift (it still is going to be 6 axis aiming :/), some few options that will make gameplay fun (small but nice ideas REALLY make gameplay imporve)

so AS LONG AS they achieve the great graphics, make the gameplay nice ^^
the developers WILL ACHIEVE the best, and make their goal come true by successfully creating a well PRESENTATION of the game (I mean graphics) so that we will but and play
After all MOST of the games today are getting away by making a nice look, nice graphics, and good commertials.

Got to say Destro, I completely disagree with you and whats more, you're wrong.

Of course Killzone 2 will look nice, it is being developed by a Sony studio, all of their games look nice because it is their console; they understand the architecture and how to develop for it better than anyone.

But what on earth gives you the impression that the gameplay won't rock? Surely not the trailers? Surely not the original game, which had technical bugs yes, but it's gameplay surpassed any shooter ever created prior to it's release. I mean... where are you grounding this?
To me it sounds like you are saying "This game has nice graphics therefore it won't play well". That logic is flawed.

I don't understand why people try and critique such things as gameplay before they have even played it, nay, before it is even released.

tsn, I agree with you, weaponry was something they got very right in Killzone and I hope they don't dumb it down for the sake of simplicity and casual shooter fans....
