Hey everybody, here's a little review for Portal: Still Alive; for XBL Arcade.

Overview:

The original Portal by Valve completely redefined the modern puzzle game with its very original and unique style and gameplay. It was released for PC originally, but a couple of years later Valve made The Orange Box for PS3 and X360, which included Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and portal. TF2 stood out a bit more to me, but then I gave Portal a shot and was amazed at how well done it was! And now its out for Xbox Live Arcade, which means that anyone who doesn't have The Orange Box can still enjoy the full game. But the reason that I bought the SAME GAME is because theres a bunch of extra stuff in there. More advanced maps, 200 achievement points, and more leaderboards than you can imagine.

Gameplay:

Still Alive includes the exact same campaign as the original, with NOTHING added. Same levels, same everything. But the thing that really grabs your attention are the 14 challenge maps, which are completely new and redesigned maps that are as difficult as ever. The challenge maps have completely new elements of gameplay too, like electric fields and harmful lasers. New techniques that you haven't even thought of are included to keep you guessing, as well as new "companions" to either help you or hate you. The 6 advanced maps from the first are there too, as well as a couple time trials.
9/10

Graphics:

Same great graphics as before, but thats the thing that gets me. Its the EXACT same. For people that played the first one, don't get too excited; theres nothing really new graphic wise to grab your attention. Good, but I could have asked for more.
8/10

Worth it?

The game costs 1200 points, which is roughly 15 bucks. So the question is; to both people who have played it and people that haven't, is it worth it?

People who have played the original - Don't get too excited about the campaign: Its the same thing. So what your going to have to look up to is the extra challenges and the extra gamerscore. I would recommend it, but you would have to have liked the original A LOT.

People who HAVE NOT played the original - GET IT. NOW

Alright so, overall..

For veterans: 8.5/10
For newbies: 10/10

I was fairly satisfied with Portal. It had gameplay which actually made you think and it had a simplistic but satisfying plot.

However I find it confusing how I didn't share the OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG PORTAL RULEZ!!!!1!!!1!!11! reaction like the rest of the gaming community did.

I am no longer a soldier of COD4. While I will continue to post on these forums and communicate with the kind people of C4C, I will no longer participate in online play through the game itself.

If you want to find me, I'll be on Halo 3 kicking some ass with my BR.

Probably better to just buy Orange Box unless you're obsessed with it.
