This turned out rather long so if you want me to just make a separate thread for it just give me a shout, thanks.

I use many different strats depending on what game type it is, what class I'm using, what my fancy is etc.
But here are a couple;

Ninja Class
SMG (MP5!)
-Silencer
-Bandolier
-Stopping Power/UAV Jammer
-Extreme Conditioning/Dead Silence

Now using this setup is obviously great on very small maps such as shipment, showdown and wetwork for a runner/gunner and camping, if your into that sort of thing.
But I find many other uses for it, too;

The Skirter
On maps such as Strike, Countdown, Backlot and especially Pipeline, I use this class to stick to the edge of the map and skirt the perimeter, all the while keeping as hidden and low-key as possible and picking off un-suspecting targets on the way. It's always worth going back to a kill location a few minutes later too, people like their revenge, and are very short sighted in seeking it.
This is a great way to play to keep down the deaths but don't expect many more than 15 or so kills per game unless you get very lucky with airstrikes and copters.

Behind Enemy Lines
This works amazingly well on particularly 'snipy' maps such as Overgrown and bloc or Sabotage/Domination matches.
In a similar way to the Skirter, described above, make your way round the perimeter of a map, but try and keep even more low-key than you would normally. This may involve letting potential targets pass by, so keep those itchy trigger fingers under control!

Once you've made your way sufficiently into the enemies controlled map space, or 'base', hide and make sure your not seen, if you are, kill the spotter and hide again, in a different place.
The next stage works much better if your team has a UAV active, so if you can, wait for one, or if you've been saving your own, now is the time to use it.
When the enemy gets to that stage where most of them have died and respawned back to their 'base' and your team are pushing through (particularly in Sabotage), Strike. You can pick off just about the entire team from inside their own 'base' whilst they are distracted with defending or staying out of sniper scopes.
This now leaves your whole team to push on in and grab a win in Sabotage, secure at least one point on Domination or just rack up a sizable amount of points with minor losses in TD.
Note - In the case of Hardcore TD, it is highly advisable that you take a UAV Jammer and not only wait until you have a radar on yourself, but the enemy team too. Teams can be amazingly short sighted and susceptible to surprise attack when you don't show up as red-dot on their screens.

Tactical Class
M14
- RDS
- Frag *3
- Stopping Power
- Extreme Conditioning/Deep Impact

Now this is one of my favourite setups, probably only second to the above one. The M14 is quite an underrated rifle but once mastered, it is an animal.
The thing you must do is learn to live with the recoil, don't do as you would a G3 and press the fire button as fast as you can (although I do advise this in CQB), but take aim and fire, just two or three times, in fairly slow concession. This gun drops enemies extremely fast if shots are on target and one with stopping power will drop almost any one in just two.

The Patroller
Now because of this setup's great power, range, accuracy and multiple grenades, it makes an excellent point defender and firing lane securer.
This class is superb on maps such as Ambush, Crossfire, and especially Strike.
I'll use Strike as an example because it is full of great firing lanes and vantage points;
You can successfully stop the flow of the enemy to a single section of this map single handedly and I'm going to tell you how: Find a nice point in a corner of the map with two roads or paths leading outward at a right angle, you know what I'm talking about, I believe there are two and they are opposite each other, which means that if you control one, you effectively control that entire third of the map. Now as there is a lot of ground to cover in one of these defensive positions the Extreme Conditioning Perk is very useful.
If done in a pair or even three you can control these points for an entire game and even alone, you can last a very long time whilst racking up the kills.
-Note, another very good gun to use is the M16 if you don't fancy the M14.

This may seem an odd way to play to some people but there is method to the madness;
What normally gets your team raped every now and then I ask you, even when no-one is playing badly? Yes indeed, it's when you get stacked. Spawn death after spawn death all because your team didn't effectively hold ground and bunched, or your enemy took the initiative and downed the majority of your team whilst pressing on your 'base'.
This 'Patrolling' almost ensures that this cannot happen as you are eliminating threats to the team as a whole and you have control of firing lanes. In effect, you are the 'Team Player'.
It's just a shame that on some of the worst maps for mass spawn death that this Patrolling method is impossible, such as on Downpour.

On any map - always be aware of the corners and hide-away spots that people can take cover in. I've taken cover in these many times to reload and have a member of the other team walk straight by me, leaving me to run behind him and mow him down. And on other side...I once walked straight by someone concealed in the side of a doorway in Crossfire. Always look for the little spaces.

Shipment tips....

-movement/location are key on this map... stay away from the center, unless you enjoy the respawn cycle. Stay behind cover, and sprint from one safe spot to the next.

-if you are the camping type, or just want to get that chopper, i would have to recommend the two crates with one opening on the edges. If you have claymores, stick them at the openings, nobody will see this coming, and then you are guaranteed at least two kills per spawn.

-at the beginning of each match, toss a grenade or two directly across from you. Because it is a small map, teams spawn as far away from each other as possible... opposite corners. Since people may try the same tactics on you, run to cover as soon as possible.

-if on hardcore mode, grenade spamming is not recommended.

-constantly be on the alert. The spawn engine on this map is horrible. If you are killed by an airstrike, wait for the kill cam to run out so you dont get nuked on the second you spawn. Ive seen team mates spawn directly behind and infront of enemy team mates all the time.

-For challenges, this map is awesome for carpet bomb, which is killiing 5 enemies with one airstrike. get the uav, quickly get airstrike, and then nuke the hell out of all the red dots on the map.. just remember, even when not on hardcore, you can still kill yourself with your own air strike. Easy challenge to complete on domination/headquarters, when everyone on the other team is trying to capture one flag.

-roflcopters are godly on this map.. ive gotten ten kill streaks from my chopper alone. Likewise, shoot down enemy choppers, which do just as much damage to your team.

-best guns.. p90/ak-74u/mp5. High rate of fire is great for this spray-friendly map, and range is hardly ever an issue. If you are a survivalist, use bandolier, otherwise, fragx3.

I got a nice strategy for domination mode on Ambush.

The idea is that there's this small hole at the flag in the very middle which you can go prone in. Sadly it won't make you 100% hidden, but enemy grenades can't hurt you since the hole is just deep enough. This way you can safely capture the flag (dominate). Yes I know it doesn't look like a hole but it works! And there's even a roadblock thing right next to it, it'll provide limited but valuable protection from bullets. Throwing a smoke grenade there is also wise, since the enemies usually presume you will be on the flag, and therefore not killing you.

The hole is the brown spot in the red circle.

Works for me!   :occasion14:

So going back to the Bog discussion and strategies to use on it...I find that using a sniper is one of the best strategies to use.  I personally prefer the M40A3, it has amazing accuracy, has the most damage behind the R700 and is just a great sniper.  Couple this with Bandoiler, Stopping Power, and Iron Lungs it makes for a wonderful choice on this map.  I have recorded many 20 kill streaks on this map using it.  But what is a good sniper without a good spot.  I prefer the mound in the very middle of the map or the bus.  Now this is not very good cover at all and is not for use on any other game type but Headquarters which I play.  The other team spawns on the other side of map of you and you can either camp on the mound or in the bus and when the enemy tries to cap the HQ you can just mow them down with one shot a piece as the M40A3 only takes a 1 shot to kill.  Only draw backs to this is there is very little cover and you are prone to shots from other snipers.  The key is to move in and out of your sight to survery the battlefield as well as move as needed to avoid fire.  Hope this helps, I know its done wonders for me.

I like sniping on Bog too Smiley Although both the bus and the mound are pure deadzones! I don't know how you can last in either place longer than a few seconds. You must be playing idiots.

My favourite spot is behind the steel drum on the far right (respectively), on the side with the two concrete walls.

Haha in fact, that is the case sometimes, but really I just get 3 kills, call in a UAV, get two more, Airstrike, and then with a well placed airstrike its basically impossible to not get a helicopter and from there I can get up to 20 kills.

On bog, even as a sniper, i prefer movement. not like all in the middle, but like find a good spot, get a couple of kills, run and find new spot. As long as you have a set amount of decent spots and you regulate between them, it keeps those revenge-seekers at bay, and just overall works for me, idk about everybody else. Now, with no sniper, or an automatic weapon of some sort...run, gun, reload, repeat

Best when played with Silencer with or without Jammer.

Before I hate the Bog (all the lagging nowadays), I like these spot. Right between Flag C and the bus, there is a bush next to a tanker? The red circle indicates it. With silencer and/or jammer, you can prone on that bush and slaughter who tries to take flag C. It's also a great spot to hide when your team is being swarmed.

Right in front of the bus, there is a tractor. If you can get there, you can get a lot of kills from the brave souls trying to infiltrate your side.

Behind the tanks is also a good spot to hide as you can snipe people coming through the edges or from from the far side coming through the building.

Bog--if u r on the hill side, run to the hill and snipe there. dont be stupid and go prone on top. crouch on the right side looking at the bus, and put a claymore next to u in case someone tries 2 knife u. i started a game 11-0 here a bunch of times. use the m40a3 w/iron lungs. also, as u r running to the hill, throw a grenade then a stun (stun explodes first, then grenade kills all). this helps so no one kills u while ur running to the hill.

if ur on the bus side, snipe by the little market. u can get quick kills at the beginning as the enemy team scurry across the field. U MUST BE A QUICK SNIPER though.

Bog-

Try going back with the sniper. At the beginning of the game throw some grenades over to the other side. You can get a few kills. Then take your sniper...

I use the M40A3, a improved R700. Great for Bog.  :37:

...run on the middle hill (on one side) and go prone. I usually get about 20-30 kills a game there.

Class for Bog:
Primary: M40A3
Secondary: Desert Eagle (has to be)
Perk 1: Fragx3
Perk 2: Stopping Power (Stopping Power, The changes made from the R700 to the M40A3 made the M40A3 much better but weaker in bullet damage, Stopping Power makes it just a much better R700)
Perk 3: Iron Lungs

On Ambush, right when u respawn on one side, u break the windows of the car and snipe through those broken windows. It works great, since all you can see is your head/gun. You don't have to worry about it exploding, it already has.

BOG based on deathmatch, Im a sniper man myself...   :37:

Sitting on the mound is suicide I think if there is a decent sniper at one end. If you want to be really clever tool up with SMG and go stand near one of the sniping positions on the map. Usually there is a Barratt 0.5 cal or similar lying on the floor which you can swap out for the Handgun, saves using the Overkill perk and you have the means to snipe and move and take people out at close range.

A good tip on Bog is if sniping to use claymores. But, place them near the respawn sites at your starting end. Its not unusual to find the respawn ends change within a minute or so of starting, if you are sniping from one end this is bad news - having your back covered by claymores when the enemy respawn behind you is VERY useful.

On the issue of maps, I always see COUNTDOWN is voted against but I love it...based on a simple deathmatch...

...I use mostly the M16 with red dot sight, frag x3 stopping power. Occasionally use the sniper rifle but depends on the oppo, if they arent experienced enough its easy to sit atop a tanker and take people down but you will need the med/high range M16 most of the time.

Jumping straight onto the open silo hatches behind the steam is a great way to rack up a quick 3 kill streak at the start of a game, most players move slowly behind cover but are well within your point of view, most players wont spot you at first up there. Once you hit a quick three a good move is to fall off and go prone under the silo for a few seconds, activate the UAV and check the postions of the oppo before moving again.

Most players will go atop a tanker and try snipe, unfortunately these are easy to spot and easily taken down with the M16 even from the otherside of the map. Only go atop tankers if the oppo seem to be struggling. If starting at the end with the garage a good place to go initially is under the tanker outside, again take a 2-3 kill hit under there then get out and move. I find going under the container trucks also useful for a 2-3 kill streak, its pretty dark under there althought the container at the garage end is somewhat more dangerous as you are in the line of sight of a popular covered run area along the wall behind you. The container by the covered grills on the other side is a great place to take people out from. But again easily identified on kill cam and you are open to a long range shot so take those 2-3 kills and move again.

Never, and I repeat never, think that by hinding behind a concrete wall in the middle of the map are you ok. Always have your back to the edge of the map and as close to it as possible. Someone will always be good enough to zip around the edge of the map and knife you and your team from behind if you are in clear view.

Hotspots to avoid:
Downed Helicopter, you are in grenade city there and open to attack from both sides. If you find yourself there go prone by the wall of the building next to it and shoot down towards the containers.
Garage, way too open and no cover at all. You also have no covered escape route so dont crouch and shoot around corners from there you wont last long.
Hangers: When in there just get out, the walls are too thin and can be shot through and again easily hit with grenades.

When running across this map, someone WILL SEE YOU even if you think you have been very careful. Always stop to take cover periodically and take a quick look back.

And last but not least, you can fall down the open silos to complete the 30ft fall to your death challenge!
