As others have said....Take your time.  It makes a world of difference.  You will notice that the players with the best Kill/Death spread are almost always the ones that don't run and gun trying to get kills.  Waiting for a UAV to make your offensive is one of the smartest things you can do in a game.

Mine is:
-Find a partner. Sounds like a bad idea, but it's not. (well, in enclosed areas, yes)
Travel  in groups, cover one another when you have to reload, if one is close to dying, have him pull back, and you get in the way (and alternate), if he's sniping, camp in the room he's sniping in. All of this can help TREMENDOUSLY. Me and a buddy play every night we can, and while private chat, we can easily help eachother out without the annoying people who just turn their mike on to be stupid or whatever. And we use the strategy above and we both wind up getting 7-kill streaks and higher, with both of us being on the top of the team. (Me 1st, Him 2nd)

Sometimes it's not always wise to cluster, if your whole team stays in one group and the enemy land a few well thrown grenades or someone sneaks up behind you - that can be your whole team down at once.
I'd spread out to cover a wide area, but stay in contact. That way the enemy can't take everyone out at once and will most likely get killed if they open fire on one member of your team since there would be many others in the area, but not all together.

You gotta know when to break off and head solo for a bit. Cheesy

True about the clustering, though me and my buddy usually run around instead of camping.
And yeah, the headset is helpful. I feel bad for all the slow-typing CoD4 PC players out there. I dont believe you can hook a mike up to a cp

You can actually hook up a mic to a PC. Since forever. Amen.

Though I play on PS3 and am waiting for the official BlueTooth Headset made by Sony, coming out with the new SOCOM game.

But that's long.

You gotta get a headset soon Cyn. It's hard to communicate with you using clan tags to say stuff. Cheesy

I myself have a simple Logitech USB headset. It works well and is perfectly comfortable. Why USB? I didn't trust any of the third party 'PS3 Bluetooth Headsets' that are out there. Especially the ones made by Datel, in my experiences Datel seem to be quite bad at making anything work properly with the PlayStation consoles. Their headsets are known to disconnect, have really crap sound, interfere with the controller, and other things I forget about.

(Sorry for that being off-topic)

Heres a tip: Use C4's as short range grenades. Cheesy

Most definitely. Run + Jump + Throw lets you launch those things a fair distance, I'd say it's better short range than an actual frag.

:toothy12: You gotta admit though, it's rather ingenious.

Indeed, C4 as makeshift 'nades works wonders plus it's hilarious. Not to mention humiliation kills.

Always crouch unless ur running or dodging. it makes a huge difference

if ur behind a corner and u get hit and ur screen goes red, do not think u can outsmart the person who shot u by slowly going round the corner and trying to kill him. chances are hes got his red dot sight right on where ull be when u round the corner. so, take the long way around and kill him from behind

stay away from ur team. u will get the most kills if everyone is split up. and any way, the other team is going for your team, so go around and flank them.

When bieng shot at and near death sprint for cover then while sprinting jump and press the prone button this will cause you to dive and make you way harder to hit. (i used this when jumping out of a three story building and got two kills before hitting the ground and dying)

The dive works great when your fleeing from a martyrdom grenade. Just run, jump, and go prone.
