HA! Your kidding me?? Im gonna go try that out with the ACOG scope.. it will explain a hell of alot though! thanks Cheesy

oh yea little tip HCmode for snipers or people that like to hang back and work forwards slowly.

Note the names or clan tags of people going off in different directions around you.

You see them Die, obv enemy that way be careful, maybe coming to you, or if your advancing watch camp spots.
They are fine, means enemies are elsewhere, go a different way carefully.
They get kills, enemies will repsawn else where, go hunting before they can regroup or start camping.
etc. In Hardcore mode every little bit can give you the edge.

Aiming down the sights of the shotgun is useless. In fact, it actually decreases accuraccy of the spread.
I thought I replied to this already...damn. Hope there isn't some out-of-place reply in another topic. Undecided

Anyway...I was wondering where you heard this, because this is the first time I've heard anything about it actually being detrimental to look down the sights. A link to the source would be much appreciated. Tongue

Dont have the exact link, it was a couple members at gamespot who claimed to have discovered this. I tried it for myself, by shooting at walls hip-firing, then aiming down the sights and comparing the two, it appears to me that hip-firing has a closer spread. But just now i looked at the in-depth chart and it says aiming down the sight increases accuracy by 0.5 from 5.0. Now im just confused...

Quote
ACOG scopes fire at the tip of the arrow. The myth that they hit at the center is wrong.
Incorrect. The gun fires at exactly the centre of the screen (assuming it's fairly accurate) The swaying arrow is just to throw you off, this is why so many people have problems aiming the ACOG.
But once you have this figured out, they become amazing, especially on an accurate sniper.

When i read that it fires at the center of the scope, i believed it but... when i hit someone while using the ACOG, it appears that the X is on the tip of the arrow. And when i fire at a wall from far range, it looks to me as if the bullet hole appears where the sight was.apparently im wrong

When you have a strong rapid-fire weapon and you want to hit something long range, shoot bullets in pulses. The bullets will be more accurate.

I refer to people that use silencers/uav jammer/dead silence as Ghosts.

This is all PC based strategy.

Don't tag along with Ghosts. I can guarantee you that if you can't hear the footsteps of the team mate you're following, he wants you to piss off and be anywhere he isn't.

Don't ever hold your breath while sniping. Get good without it. I recommend the M40A3 or M21 for this. In HC, they are still one-shot kills. In non-HC, I recommend using stopping power. I only hold my breath when I can only see the tip of my enemies head. Your bullets will always go to the center of the crosshairs, moving or not.

Be aware of your team mates. Don't block doors, and don't cross in people front of people that are standing still watching an area when it's possible to move behind them. Also, think about when you throw nades/stuns/smokes. Even grenades and stuns leave smoke clouds that may obscure a friendly snipers vision for critical moments. I hate to have someone in my sights only to have my vision obscured by a spam of 3 impotent grenades that don't kill the enemy.

People are stupid and follow patterns. Watch yourself and break your own patterns, and watch for other peoples patterns. A lot of the little things that can be done to make a person vulnerable are done by 90% of players. Watch for these patterns and use them to your advantage. Using patterns, you can know where that little red dot on your radar is going to be 5 seconds from now. That makes airstrikes and ambushing a breeze. If you practice this a lot, people might start to think you are wallhacking. It can be that effective.

Tap walls where you think people might be camping. If your crosshairs light up, spam it.

The M60 with a red dot can be used like a G3 with a hundred round clip if you fire in bursts. You can also put double tap and steady aim on it so that you can clear buildings and still hit snipers across the map.

I have found LMG grips to be worthless over the red dot sights. The accuracy increase from the grip doesn't matter much when your regular sights obscure most of your vision and makes it impossible to center your shots while firing.

With only a few people working together, you can corral the enemy (like cowboys herding cattle) by blitzing one side of the map and having a single Ghost flank and eliminate the enemy team.

This is worth repeating: Be aware of friends around you, and remember their names. If you see them die and have a good idea of where they are, you have a huge advantage over the enemy.

ALWAYS shoot down choppers. If everyone works together, you can take them down in seconds. If you have RPGs or an LMG, it's your RESPONSIBILITY to try to shoot it down for your team.

Self worth is nothing in Sab and S&D. If you can sacrifice yourself to distract the enemy long enough for your team to get the bomb down and get into covering positions, it's worth it.

Always try to complete objectives over anything else. In HQ and Dom, unless you are defending a critical point, you should be trying to capture points. You will find that doing your damndest to try to complete objectives will usually net you a pretty sweet ratio if you do it right, too.

In TDM, your K:D means EVERYTHING. If your deaths are higher than your kills, your team would be better off not having you there at all. If you find yourself dying more than killing, go camp a hallway or something to make sure the rest of your team doesn't get flanked. That way, you aren't hurting your team by giving the enemy points by dying, and you have an excuse to sit and kill people while equalizing your ratio.

in TDM, even if the guy in first place is 65-60, and the guy in second place is 35-5, the guy in second is MUCH more valuable to his team than the guy in first.

When you see someone at close range, immediately go prone. This will throw off their aim and give you a second or two to take out the confused enemy whom is standing up trying to target you.  :tongue3:

Great tip, but you don't always need to do this.

If you've just started using a new gun for the challenge xp or just to experiment to see if it's better than your old one you regularly used, and you are getting frustrated from playing badly, keep trying.
Most guns are just all about practice and regular use, so even if you are finding things hard with a new gun, keep using it. Chances are you'll get better with it. Unless you really suck, then you may as well run around with an RPD.

Here's a new one I forgot to mention before.

As you've probably noticed, the player skin changes based on weapon.

Some examples are

Marine Shotgun: Balaclava with headphones
SAS LMG (my favorite skin): Balaclava, Ski Goggles, Hood
OpFor SMG: red and white checkered turban
OpFor LMG: Red Berret
SAS Assault: Gas mask, no hood
SAS SMG: Gas Mask with hood

This makes determining threat level in a pinch extremely easy since guns can be hard to focus on and determine what they are. When you are attempting to flank your enemy, always be sure to kill from the one that poses the most threat to the least threat.

Example:

District - Domination. You are a Marine

You are going from C to the long hall to flank the enemy that is headed towards A. You see 3 OpFor in front of you, and their backs are to you. You have an MP5, so you want every shot to count. Of the OpFor, one has a red turban (smg), one has a helmet (assault), and one has a red berret (sniper or LMG).

You kill the red turban first because of the speed with which they can spray at you while you run towards them to close the gap. You kill the SMG guy right away, because nobody knew you were coming. By that time the assault becomes aware. Then you blast him as he's turning, and by the time he's down, the LMG or Sniper is either swapping to a pistol (sniper) or taking too long to shoulder his weapon (LMG) at which point you kill him.

If you would have taken out the LMG first, you would have alerted both the assault and SMG, and your survivability would have gone down significantly.

Also, if several enemies are running for a certain spot, and you're at a vantage point to kill one or two but not all of them, try to think in a split second which one would cause the most trouble where you think they are headed, and shoot him. Say they are running to a camping spot. Shoot the sniper. Say they are running to a flag that's being capped. Shoot the LMG (so he can't spray the area). Say they are flanking your buddies. Let your buddies know over voice as nix the SMG. That way, you still get your kill but you help your team out more than if you would have killed a class that would have not brought as much danger to the table.
