I don't mean newbishness  by way of nubetubing or juggernaught.  Those are game features available to everyone.

Real newbishness is focusing more on conserving ammo/explosives than staying alive.  You can always pick up someone else's gun when you run out, and you get your explosives back when you respawn.

You don't have to reload after every kill when defending a capture point.  That will get you killed more often than not.

Don't be afraid to use your special grenade during a match.  Look for opportunities where either of the 3 will help you and your team out.

A lot of people save explosives for that perfect moment.  That perfect moment rarely comes.   When you begin using them more for different things, you begin to get more creative with them and increase kill counts.

And always.. ALWAYS shoot down enemy helicopters in TDM.  Even if you end up dying occasionally in the process you are probably saving any number of your teamates and that ultimately helps the team win.  Also once the other side starts getting 'copters and running up kills they inevitably get airstrikes and run up more kills, and get more copters etc etc.  Not to mention the fact that your team gets pinned down inside buildings while the enemy can maneuver.  Soemtimes I swap setups to an LMG just so that I can shoot down copters because no one else on the team is.

I'd much rather save my frag grenade for when that 'perfect moment' does come, than not have it handy when it does.
Nothing wrong with conserving ammo. Ghosting can deplete your ammo alot if you don't have Bandolier, so why not be a bit more careful when taking someone out?
And reloading after killing someone can be very helpful. It could be the difference between life and death (virtually of course), but not many people are stupid enough to do it whilst they have an enemy in their face. Introducing Mr Pistol and Mr Knife...

I guess I should have specified that this is mostly for objective based games.  Ghosting is a seperate issue, and I'm not saying don't conserve ammo and blind fire.  I'm saying if you fire 4 rounds to kill someone with an m4 when they come in the door, you don't have to reload immediately.  There is a good chance someone is just far enough behind them that you have time to trigger the reload before you see them there.  Reloading after every kill when camping in a building with an objective will get you killed much more than save your life.  Unless you wasted the whole magazine on them, but that is obvious.

I'm not saying don't reload period, but reloading immediately after getting a kill USED to kill me, and I still see it kill quite a few others.

I've been playing the game a few months now and I'm addicted to reloading after 1-2 kills. I need to learn to reload when the clip is about three quarters empty. I use stun grenades a lot more now as well as my frag grenades, and I've been using them more carefully now. Before I through them right away and didn't cook them. Now I cook them and if the enemy is camping behind a corner, I deflect the grenade off the wall to get the kill. I might have mentioned this before, but if I know there's several enemies in a room and I can't kill them all, I run in with a cooked grenade. Basically like martyrdom but without actually having the perk on.
