Yesterday I was playing HCTDM on the Crossfire map and spawned on the Op-For end at the beginning. I ran straight to the restaurant and set up with an RPD on the outdoor patio so I could cover the route behind the bakery and if needed shift to cover the coffee shop across the street. We won the match and I was 20-0-1. Not big score, but I did my part for the team. After the match some guy goes off about me camping. I told him I was covering two routes to prevent my team from being flanked. Didn稚 matter, I was still an f-ing camper. So you tell me, was I a camper?

Yes, you were camping.  Camping is a legitimate tactic.  The important thing is that they did not learn how to stop you.  You were a better camper than they were at whatever they were trying to do.  Next time, tell them that they are very good at dying and that you could not have done it without them.

Congratulations on kicking their asses.

If he didn't understand your rationale for why you were camping - he's an idiot, and got what he deserved.

There's two types of players in CoD4:

There's the guy with the bandolier at the top of the staircase, and there's the guy running up the stairs, getting shot in the face, respawning, and running up the stairs over and over again, ending up with more metal in his face than a 14 year old girl with new braces.

The guy running up the stairs will always blame the staircase, the bandolier, and the guy killing him - but never himself.

People that complain about how someone else plays should figure out what they did wrong before blaming someone else.  If somebody kills me, I give them credit for being better than me - that time. If they kill me a second time in the same place, then I go a different way, or stay the hell away.

Campers - If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Think of the Camper's perspective - Hey, if this idiot keeps on coming back, then I may as well keep killing him.  If he does not learn, he must just be a persistent idiot.  When camping, I like persistent idiots - they really help the K/D ratio.

What about the guy that flashbangs each enclosed area before moving through? or the guy that's decent enough to lock onto the 'camper' faster than the camper can pull the trigger?

You're generalization seems off.

You're generalization seems latent.

My generalization seems hidden or dormant?  I'm not understanding how you are trying to use the word latent as the basis of your criticism; but then again, I'm not very smart.

I don't have a problem with campers - I'm unsympathetic to people complaining about them.  My point is that people who complain, do so because they aren't good.  Obviously there are more than two types of players.  What you've described is what good players do - players who couldn't care less about about campers. What about the guys who stay away form camping zones?  What about the guy who drops out of the match when he's been camped twice in a row.  What about the sniper who counter camps?   What about the guy with juggernaut who runs right by?  What about the guy who only plays single-player CoD4, and doesn't even know what a "camper" is?  None of them have anything to do with people whining about campers, which is what I understood this thread to be about.   My apologies if the analogy I served up was too myopic for you to stomach, but I stand by it.  My generalization was on-topic, and made to prove a point.

Your criticism seems rushed, narrowly considered and grammatically incorrect.

If camping was the reason you won, how come people cant just include it into their gameplay strategy instead of whining about it? If it works, then do it.

LOL

On FFA, I like calling out campers literally.  That staircase to nowhere on bloc?  "Hey buddy... turn around".  Gotta love campers - those 34/8 K/D don't make themselves!

one word...oWned  Shocked lol but anyway i would say it was a legit tactic called providing SUPPORT!!! dont let the ignorant fools tell you other wise. In a real battle if it wasn't for the "campers" spamin' away with the SAW's and M60's nobody would be able to get down range and complete their mission.
