hi can any one tell me about ping and why some games have low pings while others have very high.  It takes me a while to find one that will let me play, usally around 2000. I was asked to be kicked off a game once for having a high ping, is it adjustable ? I don't have anything running while I'm playing, well at least I don't think so.

THIS is the ping you are referring to. I'm not surprised that you were asked to leave/be kicked if you had 2000 ping. The higher the ping you have the more lag you will occur. The less ping you have the smoother the game will run - only when online, of course.

your ping also has something to do with your internet connection. so the better your connection the lower the ping. and the ping itself just shows a number, which represents how fast the server you are on notices when you clicked, typed or did something that has to be submitted. and a ping of 2000 .. i don't even think that is possible, because the list stops at 999 .. a good ping should at least be under 90 or something.
