People who hack in CoD4 online games.

Update: I have contacted Punkbuster and Infinity Ward about the hacking/cheating. Turns out nobody even hacks in CoD4. For PC punkbuster now catches any and all hacks and exploits, which is exactly what punkbuster told me. As for the Playstation 3, it is pretty hack proof, same with the Xbox 360.

Nothing to really worry about! But heres my older post about CoD4 hacks anyway, just to get the point across for other online games:

I want to help put an end to the cheating, I understand hacking in an unranked game with your friends, sure, why not right? Do whatever you want by yourself or with your friends.

But..when they bring that trash into a ranked game with many people, they destroy the balance of the game, and ruin the fun of everyone except themselves, or wait, no. They ruin their fun as well. The reason being is sure they can hack a few times, get a huge score (that is if they don't get (globally) banned by punkbuster, an admin, or kicked by the people in the game first. As well as get spammed, called many different words, etc) but after that, what do they have to say for themselves? They just cheated. Meaning all they did, was press a button. They did not out skill anyone, they did not outsmart anyone, they didn't do anything that would even remotely give them any recognition, all they did was use a hack, or cheat, or whatever other way people try to manipulate online games nowadays. Real skill takes your brains, your guts, and your reflexes. Mostly it's reflexes in FPS's. If you can go 80-10 without any hacks in a game, you have no idea how much better it feels than if you cheated somehow and had the same score. When you play legit, and then actually get good enough to dominate in most games that you enter, that is when you truly have skill. It's at this point that a person can even consider making your own clan, joining one, and eventually maybe joining a tournament for the game with your clan. (For CoD4 I am sure there will be many tournaments in the future, and I plan to host some here, at CoD4Central.com.)

Hackers have to realize that online games were not made for this kind of bs. If they want to cheat, they should go play a single player game. Most people that play all of these online games, they are playing for fun, and sometimes for competition. But you have to understand, many people that play these games are just normal people that go to work/school everyday, and after a hard day, want to relax and play some good ol' CoD4. Or whatever other online game it may be. They want to play a fun, competitive game. Now when a hacker or a cheater goes into one of these games, and starts headshotting everyone on the server, how do you think the person that just wants to have a little fun playing feels?

Sure I understand a lot of people hack just to piss others off, but why? I don't get it, do they really have to ruin others peoples video game experience for a small laugh, or whatever other reason these people cheat.

Games have single player for a reason. Single player has cheats. Go cheat there, do all the cheating you want there, nobody is effected except yourself, and that is the way it should be.

When people bring cheating online, they ruin online games, in fact, almost every single online game that has ever been released has or had at one point cheaters/hackers/glitchers. This is a very sad statistic, because even though it is just a video game, the majority of the people want to play for fun, and competition, and by cheating, you completely destroy that.

Anyway..I made this post as a way to try to get some ideas of how to catch and report these cheaters online, and at least help in preventing this from going on in CoD4. Possibly the greatest FPS ever.

Punkbuster seems to be catching more and more people now though, I am glad for that. (In the PC version.) There have been many global bans, and currently there are "hacks" out there that instead of installing actual hacks on your PC, they install keyloggers that will log your actions on your PC, and disclose all of your information to people.

This is the MAIN reason not to hack, the "hacks" now, like I said, contain these "keyloggers" and other "spyware" that will get into your PC without you ever knowing it, and steal all of your personal information.

Feel free to post some ideas, and names of people that you have seen cheat in online games.

Never saw someone hack on PS3 (except weird Clan Tags Buttons: X, O, Square, Triangle etc. and Coloured Names.)
Is cheating: get in a 12 player domination with friends and that you capture B, then the enemy does, and your team, etc.
Does that count?

Nope, it's mostly the people who try to use glitches, or bugs in the game as an advantage in a ranked game.

Honestly, I am pretty sure the Playstation 3 version of CoD4 has no hackers or cheaters at all. Which is awesome.

The Xbox360 version is pretty much the same, though I am not 100% sure.

What I am sure of is that they are cracking down on it very well in the PC version, with punkbuster, and admins banning people that cheat, glitch, bug or hack in any way.

there are people on the 360 who like to find "holes" or "doors" in the maps and they get behind these walls and they shoot you and you dont know where you were killed from. they sit and camp like wussies and rack up on kills to be the best. i have played against people like this but like Xplosiv i just leave.

I did ever shot at a friendly sniper to scare him ( HE WAS STEAL ING MY F kin KILLS!) and it fired one clip at an SMG rate.

A huge update on this whole 'cheating" issue! So, I went ahead and reported a hack that I found to Punkbuster. I got an email back the very next day saying "Don't worry. We are fully aware of the hacks, especially for CoD4, and have BANNED THEM through punkbuster.

Meaning, anyone that uses any kind of hack or exploit, is now always caught by punkbuster and globally banned from playing the game again!

There is nothing to worry about guys, I was seriously thinking that the hacks were still working, this is why I made such a huge post, but it seems that punkbuster and Infinity Ward have this on lockdown.

Punkbuster will never protect against all hacks all the time. Even if all the ones currently in existence are on lock down, they'll find another way, then it'll be used for a time, then it'll get blocked and they'll make another.

hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, I just want to say:
today I was playing "search & destroy"
we were like 8 players in total, very exiting game, were balanced, and then this guy comes and starts shooting everyone, I think he could see through wall and it seems that his weapon was very strong, because he was behind wall and he would kill most people and he wouldnt even move!.    ...
he always ended up the winner with zero deaths,  he hacked the game,  but I don't know how or where to report him.  this really pissed most of the players off, exept a few ones on the winning team. I won't stand this pathetic  way of winning and ruing everyone's experience and fun.
his nick is:

if anyone could gime me any advice on how to report this cheater, please let me know.

since this topic came out i have played against people who have cheated. i am not lying. during one game, it was on vacant and the game type was tactical, these guys were calling in airstrikes without killing us, and when they did get the 2 extra they didnt get a heli. now someone explain that.
