Chaps,

I've been playing for a while now and even though I've got better over time, I'm still decidedly average.  Some games I come out top, on the odd occasion I finish near the bottom, but the majority of games I finish in the middle (3rd / 4th place'ish)

I've messed around with my custom classes, and yeah, I think that they're OK, but if anyone can give me some suggestions on how to improve things just that little bit extra, by means of changing perks, weapons etc that would be great.

Ok, so I'll kick off by listing my 5 custom classes:

M4 Carbine, Red Dot Sight

Primary Weapon - M4 Carbine, Red Dot Sight
Side Arm - Dessert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 - Steady Aim

Ghost/Silent

Primary Weapon - G63C Silenced
Side Arm - Can't remember but it's silenced
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - UAV Jammer  Perk 3 - Steady Aim

Run n Gun

Primary Weapon - P90 RDS (or MP5 RDS)
Side Arm - Desert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 -  Steady Aim

Heavy Gunner

Primary Weapon - RPD Grip
Side Arm - Desert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - n/a  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 - Deep Impact

2 Guns

Primary Weapon - G36C RDS
Secondary Weapon - Druganov
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x 3 (or occasionally claymores)  Perk 2 - Overkill  Perk 3 - Deep Impact

I'm thinking of ditching my 2 gun class as it barely gets used, and changing it to a 'rank up' class i.e..  I just unlocked my M14 last night so I'll need to work on that to get attachments etc.

Oh, and I know that my 'heavy gunner' class is VERY Noobish, but it 'does exactly what it says on the tin'.

So ...... all you experienced players out there - is there any advice you can offer me, or changed to my classes that you think that I'm missing?  Is there something glaringly obvious that I'm doing wrong?  Or am I just an average player who will eventually get better over time?  Or maybe you can suggest a class that I can use as my 5th?

Thanks in advance !!

I usually take a particular type of weapon for each class, like 1 w/ assault rifle, 1 w/ smg, 1 w/ lmg, 1 w/ shotgun, 1 w/ sniper. This way, i can select a specific weapon for any map, and work on my challenges for these weapons at the same time.

I see that you are using the Deagle for most of your classes. Just keep in mind that while this sidearm is powerful, it is for the most part very inaccurate, and has a relatively small clip. If you like getting close when you run out of ammo, definitely take this beast.

On your Heavy Gunner class, try Slight of Hand for your Perk 2. By definition LMG's do alot of damage, but what do you do when you need to reload with an enemy on you heels? It takes an huge amount of time to reload your LMG relative to the other, lighter guns in the game, and having a clip in your weapon and not having one can be the difference, quite literally (as far as the game is concerned) between life and death.

Hope this helped!  Grin

How about a full ghost class?

MP5 Silenced
M9 Silenced (shares ammo with MP5)
Stun

Bomb Squad
UAV Jammer
Dead Silence or Extreme Conditioning

M4 Carbine, Red Dot Sight

Primary Weapon - M4 Carbine, Red Dot Sight
Side Arm - Dessert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 - Steady Aim

This is good.

Ghost/Silent

Primary Weapon - G63C Silenced
Side Arm - Can't remember but it's silenced
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - UAV Jammer  Perk 3 - Steady Aim

This is good, but maybe consider Extreme Conditioning to get there faster.

Run n Gun

Primary Weapon - P90 RDS (or MP5 RDS)
Side Arm - Desert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 -  Steady Aim

This is good

Heavy Gunner

Primary Weapon - RPD Grip
Side Arm - Desert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - n/a  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 - Deep Impact

This is good.

2 Guns

Primary Weapon - G36C RDS
Secondary Weapon - Dragunov
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x 3 (or occasionally claymores)  Perk 2 - Overkill  Perk 3 - Deep Impact

Maybe substitute a silenced AK-47 for the G36C and always use claymores.  You may also consider switching in Steady Aim for Deep Impact to help the AK.

It looks like you really like your Frag x3 perk.

Thanks for the responces, some good information.  I've written down all the different suggestions and I'll try working through some of them as my custom class 5, and see what suits my style of play.

With regard to the comment of I like the frag x3's - then yeah I do.  Not because I like random granade tossing, but I don't really find anything else in that slot all that useful.  I used to use claymores on about 1/2 of my classes, but as my style of play at that point in time was mental rambo 'run n gun', I wasn't around long enough to make them worth wile using.  Now that I've slowed my game down considerably I think that I'll get more use of them thinking about it.

I mainly play HQ or Team Tactical - so with HQ games the 3 frags come in handy as a well placed, cooked grenade, at the HQ as it's getting captured usually works pretty good.

As for using my Desert Eagle as my side arm then that acually never gets used.  The only reason I ever used a specific pistol was when I was using an MP5.  I used the pistol that uses the same bullets (kinda like bandoiler but without loosing a perk slot) - that's correct isn't it?

Thanks for all your help  Cool

Ghost/silent: try switch nades x3 for bomb squad. dead silence is fun

run n gun: try jaggernaut, and remove rds

2 gun class: try change into sniper, if you snipe sometimes. m40a3 stopping power and iron loungs, og m21 stoppingpower and steady aim, for a lol class

I use all of this, or have used it Tongue

You misspelled G36c and Desert Eagle in the first two. The classes seem ok but I recommend adding Bandolier if you find yourself running out of ammo.

Some good choices but I dont like fragx3. If your going to use an M4 than bandolier is recommended.

M4 Carbine, Red Dot Sight

Primary Weapon - M4 Carbine, Red Dot Sight
Side Arm - Dessert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 - Steady Aim

Great. Try an ACOG for some fun.

Ghost/Silent

Primary Weapon - G63C Silenced
Side Arm - Can't remember but it's silenced
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - UAV Jammer  Perk 3 - Steady Aim

Use Bomb Squad for all Ghost classes. It will save you life if your doing what a ghost should do.

Run n Gun

Primary Weapon - P90 RDS (or MP5 RDS)
Side Arm - Desert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x3  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 -  Steady Aim

Good.

Heavy Gunner

Primary Weapon - RPD Grip
Side Arm - Desert Eagle
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - n/a  Perk 2 - Stopping Power  Perk 3 - Deep Impact

Use Steady Aim in case you run into some one close. Deep Impact is not necessary

2 Guns

Primary Weapon - G36C RDS
Secondary Weapon - Dragunov
Special Grenade - Stun

Perk 1 - Frag x 3 (or occasionally claymores)  Perk 2 - Overkill  Perk 3 - Deep Impact

I have a class just like this. But I use a Silenced AK, Claymores and SA. Keep the Dragunov if your overkilling. Stopping Power has no effect on it.

I agree with Zack with his comment on the heavy gunner class with the RPD

I use steady aim most of the time now because it makes it even more deadly close up and still has good penetration which you wont really need as much as steady aim
