MP5 vs. P90

This is an ongoing battle for me on what one is better, I seem to do good with both but I need more experience with the P90 to test its worth.  Lets see what you guys think.

P90 - Higher capacity clip.  Faster Rate of Fire

MP5 - Slightly Higher damage.  Better Iron Sights.

I dunno, it's pretty much in a toss up.  I like using a silenced MP5 better but a RDS with the P90.
They are both really good.  The P90 is better when you are running around a lot since you don't need to reload as much.

One thing though, some people think it is n00bish if you use a P90, so if you care about what others think about you, the MP5 may be a better choice...  But really, who cares if you are pwning them and you are at the top of the scoreboard

That's a tough one. All statistics are without stopping power.
MP5:
Kills in .2250000563 seconds without stopping power at point blank range

P90:
Kills in .2594594595 seconds without stopping power at point blank range

So the MP5 kills faster at close range.

I believe the P90 wins here, which could help even out the time to kill at close range.

I suppose P90 is SLIGHTLY better here as well.

Clip Size:
P90 has 50 rounds in a clip, MP5 has 30. When you add into account the fact that the MP5 bullets do more damage: MP5 has enough for 10 kills, P90 has enough for 12.5. So, in theory, the P90 clip will last another kill or two longer than the MP5

Reload Time: P90 takes .5 seconds longer when partially empty, .2 seconds longer when empty.

I suppose the clip size cancels out the reload time, since you can use the clip longer and wait to reload until the time is right.However, the clip size will prove in handy if encountering multiple foes, so P90 has a slight advantage here in my opinion.

Iron Sights: MP5 has better sights.

I've always thought the MP5 was better, but now that I'm really looking hard at the numbers P90 looks like a better gun. It seems like everything the MP5 has, the P90 has a counter that makes it a tad better.
MP5 kill faster, P90 has better hip-fire.
MP5 reloads faster, P90 has a bigger clip and I believe the clip is more useful.
P90 has less recoil, MP5 has better sights. I believe lowered recoil is more useful than easy to use sights. You can get used to sights over time. Recoil is not going to change.

I guess my vote is for the P90.

I know people will disagree with my interpretations, but the data I believe is accurate. When you disagree, try to focus on the data, not my interpretations of how it would make a difference in game.

You mean how fast it kills. Nah, I used a calculator and the ol' noggin. 

I got the rounds per minute for each gun from this source. http://www.xanga.com/DenKirson/632800688/item.html

Using that number, I calculated how often a round comes out. Then I multiplied by the number of hits to kill, thus getting the time to kill.

i only use my smg for my stealth class and i used to use the mp5. but now i use the p90 because i like to fire from the hip, which is better than the mp5. i'd go with the p90 but it is a toss up.

id go with the MP5 cause the only thing the p90 has over the mp5 is larger clip and fire rate but the MP5 has better accuracy, damage and Range..so yea i think MP5 is better

I like the noise they both make but i like the P90 more because it is great for clearing a room.

Ty guys for your input and ty Feonian for your in-depth look at each gun, now it seems clear to me that the P90 is a better choice for me, when i use the MP5 and I try to hit ppl long ranger its hard cause the recoil is so weird on that gun, but on the P90 it seems so much easier to do.  Hopefully i can test this decision once my Xbox gets fixed

MP5. More damage, it can beat a double tapped p90 up close. you can move very quik even when looking down them sights (that are very good) + its red tiger looks more awsmer.

Ok, i guess i'll experiment with it.  And to whoever said something about that I have red tiger for the MP5 and yes its sweet, just need it for P90 once i get my Xbox back from repair

feonian i'm impressed +1 karma. indeed the mp5 does have more recoil than the p90 imo. but i like the mp5 more.

uav jammer
dead silence

mp5- red dot sight
bandolier
stopping power
steady aim

these two classes are a powerhouse for me.
