Has anyone used the stinger missiles in the church just before the graveyard to bring down the heli?

I haven't, since it isn't really part of the mission. I see no bother in running up there to shoot down a heli that will just pass over you if you go prone in the grass and don't move.

It just seemed a bit strange walking past a load of them in the church then having a heli come over, you obviously give yourself away and have to fend off the dogs an the like i would imagine?

i tried with the one in the tower  :hello2:but it dropped dummy flares and the stinger went for those in mid-flight instead... then it gunned me down before i could pick up the one by the door...

Ive taken down the Helicopter before .. except on Recruit ,
First , take the stinger missile and replace it with your USP.45 , next , follow macmillan all the way to the gate-like thing and prone in the shadows , when you think the helicopter can't see u , come out and aim at it with the FIM-92 Stinger , wait until it gets really far , but not too far because the lock-on will be disabled , when you think its far enough , FIRE !! , theres a chance that you take down the helicopter at this point , I did it once , anyway , move just a bit to the right and see whether the helicopter fires any missiles , if it doesn't , then u have take it out , if it does .. well ... RUN BACK INTO THE CHURCH and grab another stinger and run out through the entrance (The spot with the statue) , and wait next to the statue , Wait until you can see the helicopter .. aim at him .. get a lock-on and then fire .. And be careful , he can shred off the roofs of the church and any other building, I'd recommend you fire when he goes around the church's lookout point.

I've tried killing it tons of times. I have not been able to kill it at all. I miss and as I try to get another stinger, the heli starts blowin up the church and kills me.

I actually wanted to see if I can kill everyone in the level and ended up taking out both helis along with all of the ground troops who appeared before me. It was so fun too ╬

I don't think you should hide in the church , it can blow up he roof with its M134 and Missile Launcher ..

  You guys! you have to go to the first apartment that you go into, right to the top of the stairs, into the window. From there, there is as many stingers as you want. once you hit the heli, swap to a fast gun. (i found  a silenced p90 somewhere on that level) and watch the soldiers come running. it is truly a terrifying sight. there's hundreds of em.
(its a bloody convention out there)

The dogs are easily set aside because they have to go up the stairs.
