 I'm sick to death of every FPS coming out having a silent protagonist. I don't want to play as a stump that being carried around, I want to play as a character, a person. If my player character never develops at all as a character then why should I care what happens to him? I hope COD5 breaks this stupid FPS trend.

Yeah. I couldn't have cared less if Soap died, didn't care when Jackson died though it was a tragic death, but it was a little disheartening to see those that you had gotten to know so well throughout the game die. I wish the person whould actually talk or have a little personality. The only thing you see of him the entire game is his hands.

At least I think that's what you mean, right?

Yeah, why does the "character" never speak? And why does everyone else make you do everything e.g. take point, pick up the javelin etc.

 If you share my opinion and are tired of this stupid FPS fad then please tell other people about this post. More attention will be brought to this issue and maybe we can send a message to the big wigs at Infinity Ward, Bungie, and many other companies that this isn't what we want.

 I have to say that even your comrades were undeveloped characters that had potential to be much more endearing. The ending could have brought out more emotion from the player if we got to know them as people, not soldiers.
